This keynote will explore engaging men and boys to in addressing DFSV and how this can be done safely and appropriately. Working with men to address domestic, family and sexual violence is a complex and multifaceted task, and it will require many different approaches and interventions. And meaningful engagement with men and boys is essential to building a future free from violence. But this work cannot mean diverting attention or funding away from people facing violence and the services that support them. Nor does it mean minimising or excusing the harm men and boys cause with violent behaviour. On the contrary, engaging with men and boys seeks to increase accountability for their violence. This keynote will address these issues and seek to contribute to a shared understanding of all the factors that contribute to men’s use of violence.
