Details

Telling Stories That Can Change Our World is a reflective storytelling session. Drawing on Dreaming stories shared by her grandmother, Catherine explores the enduring power of story as a tool for truth-telling, cultural continuity and social change. She weaves personal reflections with lived experience to illustrate how stories have shaped Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander worldviews, guided community leadership, and influenced decision-making affecting women and children. Rather than a traditional keynote, this session invites listeners to slow down, listen deeply and consider how stories can challenge assumptions, reframe priorities and inspire collective responsibility. Catherine’s storytelling reminds us that stories are not just something we hear, they are something we carry, and they have the power to change how we see our world and our role within it.
