This workshop explores the pūrākau of Hinekauorohia in relationship with Tāne, drawing on their dynamic as a blueprint for collective strength, reflection, and relational repair. Tāne is known for perseverance, the willingness to stand, to fail, and to rise again in pursuit of light. Yet these achievements were not realised in isolation. The capacity to work as a collective, to seek support, and to persist through challenge speaks to the importance of relationship as the foundation of transformation.
Hinekauorohia, through the waters of reflection, offers an equally powerful contribution. This presence invites pause, review, and honest self examination. In these waters we are able to see ourselves clearly, to recognise our behaviours, and to take responsibility for the impact we have on others. Reflection becomes an act of strengthening rather than shaming.
Together, Tāne and Hinekauorohia provide a relational framework for navigating tension, restoring balance, and deepening trust. Participants will engage in facilitated kōrero and reflective practice to explore how perseverance and reflection can work in harmony to strengthen relationships within whānau, teams, and communities.
